Home-School Agreement - Responsibilities
Ysgol Bro Teifi will:
✓ensure that the school’s aims and objectives are met
✓attain high learning and teaching standards
✓set and mark homework regularly
✓insist on high behavioural standards
✓care for your child’s safety and welfare
✓prepare pupils for external examinations and national tests
✓provide a balanced curriculum, which will meet the needs of your child
✓offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities
✓inform you of your child’s progress and of general school issues
✓provide advice, support and instruction to parents and pupils regarding further education and careers
✓respect pupils as individuals and remind them of their responsibilities to the wider community.
As a Parent, I will:
✓ensure that my child attends school regularly and punctually according to the legal requirements
✓ensure that my child wears the official school uniform
✓support the school as the school insists on high standards regarding behaviour, work and uniform
✓inform the school beforehand of any unavoidable absence known to me
✓take active and supportive interest in my child’s work and progress, including homework
✓attend meetings for parents and any other discussions relating to my child’s progress
✓inform the school of any concerns or problems which may affect my child’s behaviour or work.
✓take responsibility for my child’s use of mobile phones and social media.
As a Pupil, I will do my best to:
✓attend school regularly and punctually according to the legal requirements
✓bring all the equipment and clothes required daily
✓wear the official school uniform and be of neat appearance
✓complete all my class work, course work and homework to the best of my ability and punctually
✓make a worthy effort to prepare thoroughly for external examinations or internal and/or national tests
✓show respect towards other pupils and all members of staff
✓care for the school environment and help to keep the school clean and free of litter
✓respect the principles and ethos of a designated Welsh Medium School
✓recognise and support the school’s code of discipline.
