Maintaining a good level of attendance in school is crucial if pupils are to sustain a good level of progress in their education. Parents/carers have a legal requirement to ensure that their child/children attend school regularly and on time. A good level of attendance is described as being over 95% and pupils who have attendance below 90% are classified as being persistently absent and could be open to intervention by the education welfare officer.

If your child is unable to attend for genuine reasons then you must inform the school via phone or via the Edulink app. You should note the reason for absence and when you expect them to be back. It is good practice to phone on a daily basis to ensure that the school's records are correct.
